Joining Co.MISSION Content
I recently joined Co.MISSION Content, a production company based in New York. The collaboration adds a new layer to how and where I work, and I’m grateful for the trust and openness that made it possible. Co.MISSION Content represents filmmakers from different backgrounds and disciplines, and I’m glad to be part of that group.
My Approach to Cinematography
My work as a cinematographer and director sits between observation and structure. I focus on clarity, rhythm, and atmosphere rather than spectacle. Over the years, this approach has shaped projects across commercials, music videos, and documentary-driven work. I try to let the subject guide the visuals, not the other way around. That mindset stays consistent, no matter the format or scale.
Working Across Seoul and New York
I remain based in Seoul, South Korea, where much of my work continues to take place. At the same time, working with Co.MISSION Content makes it easier to collaborate on projects in the US and beyond. This setup feels practical rather than symbolic. It allows for flexibility while keeping my base and perspective intact.
Collaboration as a Foundation
Being represented alongside filmmakers such as Brandon Bloch, Brandon Li, and others places a strong emphasis on collaboration rather than comparison. Each filmmaker brings a distinct voice, and that diversity is what makes the roster meaningful. For me, the value lies in shared standards and mutual respect.
Looking Ahead
This collaboration does not change how I work, but it expands the context in which that work can exist. I see it as a continuation rather than a shift. I look forward to the projects that will grow out of this connection, and to building them with care, patience, and the right people involved.
