Overview

PLASTIC WELCOMER EXIST IN THE CITY. THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF PLASTIC WELCOMER, WHO METICULOUSLY CARRY OUT THEIR WORK. THEY ALL WORK TO DELIVER A MESSAGE OF WELCOME WITH EXAGGERATED GESTURES, MOVEMENTS AND FORMS. THEIR MESSAGES ARE ALL AUTOMATED AND DIGITALLY GENERATED BY THE ENTERPRISES THEY BELONG TO AND WORK FOR. ALIKE BUT DIFFERENT, THEY SUCCEED TO STAND OUT IN A VERY UNIFORM CITY AND THEREFORE REINFORCE THE CITY’S PRACTICE OF WELCOME. THIS PERSONAL PHOTO PROJECT WAS SHOWN IN COLLABORATION WITH HYUN CHO AT TYPOJANCHI 2015, THE 4TH INTERNATIONAL TYPOGRAPHY BIENNALE GROUP EXHIBITION AT CULTURE STATION 284 IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA.
