Overview
This corporate film was produced for Equinor ASA (formerly Statoil), a Norwegian state-owned multinational energy company headquartered in Stavanger. Equinor operates in 36 countries and is primarily active in the petroleum sector, while also expanding its investments in renewable energy and long-term sustainable solutions.
The Film Agency Oslo invited me to join the production as cinematographer based in Seoul. The project was shot mainly in Norway and South Korea, combining industrial environments with broader landscape elements to reflect the scale of Equinor’s operations. My role as director of photography was focused on visual execution — translating the director’s approach into a consistent camera language across different locations and working conditions.
Because this was corporate film involving both European and Korean production environments, the workflow required coordination between international teams Across Oslo And Seoul. Shooting in South Korea brought a different rhythm and production structure compared to Norway, and the visual continuity between both regions became an important aspect of the process.
The film offers insight into Equinor’s ongoing transition within the energy sector. Rather than presenting a promotional tone, the visual approach remained restrained and observational. Industrial sites, infrastructure, and people at work were filmed with clarity and balance, allowing the subject matter to remain central.
This project reflects my ongoing work as a Seoul based director of photography on international corporate productions that move between markets and production cultures while maintaining visual consistency.
