Hana Bank Headquarters by NBBJ
I photographed the new Hana Bank Headquarters in Cheongna, Incheon, South Korea, commissioned by NBBJ, the international architecture and design firm behind the building. The project offered an opportunity to document a major new corporate headquarters through corporate architecture photography in Korea, focusing on the relationship between architecture, landscape, workplace and people.
Designed as the new headquarters for Hana Financial Group, the building rethinks the conventional corporate office as an open and connected environment. A continuous network of ramps, terraces and landscaped spaces moves through the architecture, linking different levels and creating connections between interior and exterior spaces. At the heart of the building, a large central atrium brings natural light deep into the interior and visually connects the surrounding workplace floors.
My photography documents the building at different scales, from its distinctive exterior form and relationship with the surrounding landscape to the central atrium, workplace interiors, circulation areas, terraces and architectural details. I was particularly interested in showing the visual connections and sense of movement throughout the headquarters.
Located in Cheongna International City, Incheon, west of Seoul, the headquarters forms a major part of Hana Financial Town and brings together Hana Financial Group and its affiliates within a new integrated workplace.
