MUTUAL led the full production of KAIST’s new promotional film, taking the project from concept development through shooting and editing. The goal was to move beyond the conventions of a typical school video and instead create a cinematic piece that reflects KAIST’s role as a hub of imagination, innovation, and discovery. I worked on this project as the main Director of Photography, also supporting director Suyee Jung in a co-directing role.

The film positions KAIST not only as a leading research institution but also as a place where boundaries are pushed and new ideas are born. Through a visual exploration of KAIST’s architecture and atmosphere, the narrative frames the university as a playground of possibilities—where curiosity sparks creativity and technology is guided by purpose.

Founded in 1971, KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) has grown into one of Asia’s most respected research universities, with international partnerships and a strong focus on science, engineering, and business. This film captures the institution’s forward-looking vision, highlighting how true transformation begins in the mind before it takes shape in the world.
