AZAR | Director of Photography

I worked as Director of Photography on a series of three short films for Azar, a global video dating and social discovery platform. The campaign was produced in South Korea by Korean production company Minority.

The three films – EP1. SOULMATE, EP2. TOWELGATE and EP3. MY PERSONAL BOUNCER – follow a group of friends as they talk about dating, online connections and their experiences using Azar. Each episode introduces different features of the platform through playful, character-driven situations.

We shot the entire campaign in a studio, creating several distinct setups within the same location. Working closely with the lighting team, I approached the cinematography with a controlled but naturalistic lighting style, aiming to make the constructed environments feel warm, believable and lived-in rather than overtly lit.

Across the three films, the visual language remains intimate and relaxed, supporting the conversational performances and lighthearted tone of the campaign.
