Architecture Brand Film Korea | OJL Studio
I worked as Director of Photography (DoP) alongside directorS Grace Kim AND SEYEONG YOON on this architecture brand film in Korea for OJL Studio. The film was created to introduce the architecture studio, establish its visual identity and communicate its design philosophy to a wider international audience.
At the heart of the project is OJL’s approach to architecture as a creative process that continually raises questions and explores new possibilities. Rather than presenting architecture through finished buildings alone, the film focuses on the ideas, experimentation and design processes behind the work.
Working with Grace AND SEYEONG, we developed a visual approach that connects live-action cinematography with an animated world of organic structures, architectural forms and human movement. The transition between physical and virtual space reflects OJL’s ideas of design as something morphous, organic and constantly evolving.
As DoP, I focused on creating the live-action visual language and cinematographic foundation for these transitions between reality and animation. The project gave us the opportunity to approach architectural filmmaking from a more conceptual perspective, using film to communicate not only architecture itself, but the creative thinking behind it.
