Kia EV5 Automotive Photography at Médongaule
For this Kia EV5 automotive photography series, I photographed the EV5 at Les Jardins de Médongaule in Yangpyeong, South Korea. The series brings together automotive photography, contemporary Korean architecture and the surrounding mountain landscape.
The location includes Seongok Seowon Academy, a contemporary educational complex designed by Seung H-Sang of Iroje Architects. Its exposed concrete structures, courtyards, stone gardens and reflecting water provided a distinctive architectural setting for photographing the Kia EV5.
I approached the car and architecture as part of the same visual composition. Wider views place the EV5 within the concrete structures and landscape, while closer photographs explore reflections, geometric details and the sculpted surfaces of the vehicle. Autumn vegetation, changing light and the surrounding mountains add a natural contrast to the architecture and automotive design.
The resulting photography series explores the relationship between the Kia EV5, contemporary Korean architecture and landscape, moving between automotive, architectural and detail photography.
