Singapore, with only 1% of agricultural land due to its rocky geology, imports 90% of its food from 183 countries. Vegetables have a self-sufficiency rate of just 4% in particularly. To increase food self-sufficiency, the singapore government introduced the 30 by 30 policy, promoting alternative agricultural technologies like smart farms.

In addressing and supporting local issues, hmgics presents a new smart farm, providing a futuristic solution to enhance singapore’s food production capabilities, exemplifying the group’s vision for sustainable urban growth. Unlike most smart farms that are focused on maximizing productivity in enclosed environments, hmgics smart farm is designed to enhance customer awareness by allowing visitors to experience the entire farming process.


Through the synchronization of human efforts and an automated conveyor system utilizing sophisticated robotics, the smart farm produces up to nine different crops within the facility, with harvested produce given to customers as a memento of their visit, as well as donated to singapore society. The crops will also feature on the menu of the tasting lounge and customers can enjoy various flavors of crops. Furthermore, customers have the opportunity to enjoy all these experiences at no cost.
